Isola del Tesolio 2025: Excellence and Growth for Sicilian Olive Oil

On September 12–13, 2025, the Isola del Tesolio event took place, dedicated to promoting the excellence of Sicilian olive oil and exploring future opportunities for growth in the sector.

During the conference and technical roundtable held on September 12, CEO Manfredi Barbera highlighted that current olive oil production in Sicily and across Italy meets only one-third of national consumption. He presented strategic proposals and innovative projects aimed at increasing production volumes and improving quality. Among these initiatives is the “School of Olive Oil”, designed to establish a formal, structured educational path for olive oil, inspired by wine education programs.

The event welcomed key institutional and business figures, including the Regional Councillor for Productive Activities Edy Tamajo, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Palermo and Enna Alessandro Albanese, UniCredit Regional Manager Salvatore Malandrino, and the General Director of the Department for Productive Activities Dario Cartabellotta.

On this occasion, the prestigious “Oliva d’Oro” award was presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth of the olive oil sector. This year, we were especially proud to see the award presented to our partner Mario Stancampiano.

The second day, September 13, was dedicated to B2B meetings between participating companies – including Mancuso Gelati, Sicily Food, Condorelli, Frolsi, and Cantine Milazzo – encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and the strengthening of the Sicilian agri-food network.

The event served as a valuable platform to promote Italian excellence, highlight the superior quality of Sicilian olive oil, and support the development of innovative initiatives for the future of the industry.
