East West Itinerary
The western side of Sicily is a region rich in ancient history, cultural diversity, and some of the island’s finest wines. From the ancient ruins of Selinunte and the Valley of the Temples to the wine-producing regions around Marsala, this itinerary highlights Sicily’s west coast through both its historical sites and world-class food and wine.
Day 1 - Palermo
After your arrival to the Palermo airport, you will meet your driver and transfer with private vehicle to your hotel.
In the afternoon you will go on a walking tour with your private tour guide to explore the vibrant streets of the historic center.
Dinner:
Enjoy a welcome dinner at a famous restaurant offering exquisite Sicilian cuisine, paired with wines from Marsala or Cerasuolo di Vittoria.
Day 2: Monreale and Wine tasting
Morning:
After breakfast your driver will take you to visit the Monreale Cathedral and its stunning mosaics.
Lunch:
You will visit one of the local wineries for a guided tour and afterwards you will have lunch accompanied by the local wines.
Evening: you will be driven back to your hotel to enjoy the evening at your leisure
Day 3: Depart for Castellammare - Trapani
Morning:
After breakfast depart for your next destination in Trapani. Along the way you will visit the coastal town of Castellammare del Golfo with stunning views and delicious local food.
Lunch:
A delightful seafood lunch with wine.
Evening: check into your hotel in Trapani and later in the evening you will have dinner at a restaurant offering regional specialties and wine.
Day 4: Erice - Marsala
Morning:
After breakfast you will meet your guide and driver who will take you to visit the medieval town of Erice.
Lunch:
Wine tasting and lunch at one of the most historical wineries in the area
Evening: you will be driven back to your hotel to enjoy the evening at your leisure.
Day 5: Saline salt fields - Segesta
Morning:
After your hotel breakfast the day provides a full itinerary beginning with a visit to the famed salt fields of the region from there you will continue to Segesta, one of the most iconic and well-preserved structures in Sicily, dating back to the 5th century BC
Lunch: a buffet lunch at one of the local restaurants close to Segesta
Dinner: Dine at one of the favorite restaurants famous for their Couscous and other local delights.
Day 6: Agrigento - Home to the Valley of the Temples
Morning:
Breakfast at the hotel, and then depart for your guided tour of the crown jewel of Agrigento showcasing the ancient Greek civilization monumental architecture and culture dating back to the 6th century BC
Lunch:
Agrigento is located in the heart of a significant wine-growing region, producing some excellent Sicilian wines. You will visit one of the nearby wineries for a light lunch and wine tasting and unwind after a morning of sightseeing.
Evening:
Check into your hotel and then have a stroll in the charming historical center before enjoying an evening dinner at a restaurant where you will have superb Sicilian wine and food as part of your last night in Sicily.
Day 7: Departure
Morning:
Breakfast at the hotel and check out; your transfer will take you to the Palermo airport.
